This section applies to everyone using the portal — students, admission officers, committee members, and alliance managers.
1.1 How accounts are created
The portal uses two different account-creation paths depending on your role — self-registration is for students only; staff accounts are created by invitation.
Students — self-register
- Go to /user/register.
- Enter your full name, email address, and a password.
- Indicate whether you attended a NeurotechEU alliance university:
- Yes — pick the alliance university from the list.
- No — type your current or most recent institution.
- Tick the reCAPTCHA “I’m not a robot” checkbox (you may be asked to select images if challenged).
- Submit the form.
Your account is created immediately with the Students role and you can start an application.
Admission Officers, Admission Committee members — by invitation
Staff accounts are not self-registered. An Alliance Manager invites you by email:
- You receive an email titled “Invitation to join the NeurotechEU Joint Masters Admission Portal” with an Accept invitation button.
- Click the button (or copy the link). It opens the registration form with your email, role, and institution already set for you — you only fill in your Full Name and Password.
- Submit. Your account is created and activated immediately with the correct role (Admission Officer or Admission Committee) and institution assignment.
Alliance Managers, Administrators
Alliance Manager and Administrator accounts are created by an existing administrator or alliance manager from the admin area — not via self-registration and not via the invitation flow.
1.2 Signing in
- Go to /user/login.
- Enter your email and password, and tick the reCAPTCHA “I’m not a robot” checkbox.
- You will land on the page appropriate to your role.
1.3 Resetting your password
- Go to /user/password.
- Enter your email and tick the reCAPTCHA “I’m not a robot” checkbox; follow the link in the reset email.
1.4 How your name is displayed
Emails, profile pages, comments, and admin lists address you by the Full Name you gave at registration, not by the login username. Keep it current in your account profile at /user — it’s what appears in every message the system sends you and to others about you.
