1.4.1 Admission Requirements
To gain admission to the Master´s programme, you must meet the general academic criteria, prove English language proficiency and showcase your personal motivation to pursue this demanding degree in the field of neurotechnology.
- All candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree (minimum 180 ECTS) in a STEM or neuro-medical discipline (e.g. Biology, Biomedical Technology, Cognitive Science, Artificial Intelligence, Medicine, Computer Science, Engineering, Robotics, Psychology). Students in the final year of their Bachelor’s degree may be provisionally admitted to the Master’s programme on the condition that their Bachelor’s degree is awarded and registered prior to official enrolment in the programme.
- All candidates must prove adequate English Language skills must in one of the following ways:
- TOEFL iBT with a minimum score of 91 (TOEFL Home Edition is not accepted, except in extreme emergency situations)
- IELTS Academic with a minimum score of 6.5 (IELTS Online is not accepted, except in extreme emergency situations)
- Cambridge certificate at level B2 (with a minimum score of 176) or higher
1.4.2 Selection criteria
Applicants who meet the admission requirements outlined above will be evaluated and ranked by the Joint Admission and Selection Committee based on the following criteria.
Curriculum Vitae
Applicants must submit a CV that clearly documents their courses and grades, academic achievements, research activities, and relevant professional experience. When creating your CV, we highly encourage you to follow the Europass template in https://europass.europa.eu/en/create-europass-cv. Additionally, all courses and grades must be verified by an official academic transcript. Applicants are also encouraged to include sections on:
- Intercultural Experience: languages, relevant international exposure, and additional cultural experiences.
- Civic Engagement: relevant experiences and practical examples of past or ongoing contributions.
GPA of the bachelor´s degree
Applicants must provide an official transcript of records that outlines their GPA of the bachelor´s degree.
Interview
Each applicant will participate in an interview conducted by a panel from the preferred starting institution. The interview assesses the applicant’s academic potential, motivation, and alignment with the programme’s interdisciplinary objectives. Interviews are conducted online.
Reference contacts
Applicants must provide the names and contact information of two referees who can provide additional information regarding the applicant’s skills, academic level, and professional potential if requested.
1.4.3 Application Timeline & Procedure
Before applying, please know that all documents must be correctly submitted on the NeurotechEU Campus+ platform. Once all the documents have been uploaded to Campus+, the preselected students will receive an invitation to an interview.
Your application will only be considered if it meets the following requirements:
- All required documents have been submitted before the indicated deadline.
Required documents
All documents must be uploaded in PDF format and submitted in English for admission purposes.
Applicants must provide:
- Curriculum Vitae
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- Academic transcript
- Two reference contacts
- Valid ID:
- EU students: national ID or passport
- Non-EU students: passport only
When submitting the required documentation through Campus +, you will be asked to indicate:
- Your preferred start institution
- Your preferred mobility domain
- Your preferred mobility institution (optional)
Application Procedure
- Application submission via the application portal on Campus+ with required documents (degree, transcripts, CV, two reference contacts).
- Eligibility check against admission requirements by partner admissions offices.
- Candidate evaluation by the Joint Admission and Selection Committee, applying the published selection criteria.
- Offer and enrolment notifications are sent via the portal and by email.
- Appeal process: unsuccessful applicants may request a review within one month; appeals are handled by the Admissions Appeals Committee or Officer.
General Timeline
The application period is from January 1 – March 31, eligibility checks will be performed before April 15, and admissions will be communicated before April 30. See the exact days on the NeurotechEU website.
Application/decision process for the host university in the mobility semester:
- Following final ranking and admission, students are guaranteed a mobility placement, though not necessarily at their preferred mobility institution. The final allocation of mobility placements will be decided during Semester 1, before which students have the opportunity to confirm or update their preferences.
- The Joint Admission and Selection Committee will manage mobility placements based on student preferences, academic performance, and available capacity across the consortium.
